Weekly Recap: March 7-13, 2022

Each week, Stay Plugged In hosts free online tournaments for Rocket League, Valorant, and Smash Ultimate - each with a $100 prize pool. The week of March 7th was a great one and featured top talent in these game titles.

Turbo Tuesday, the weekly Rocket League tournament, saw the previous week's champs take the win for a second week. Brutal Team 37 competed in the grand finals against Pad Players and were victorious with a final score of 4-1. Teammates Drey, Turtle, and Nogravity101 are all ranked as supersonic legends - the highest rank that can be achieved in Rocket League.

When asked what the competition was like, Drey responded, “the competition is fierce and I love playing against players that are as passionate as I am for esports.”

Wednesday’s Valorant tournament was close in score, but the TSMFTX100T team won 13-10 over team 4 Pockets Full. Teammates Zin, Takio, Iceykl, and Evan88tor are ranked immortal, with Grifdy holding a rank of radiant.

The weekly tournaments rounded out with the Super Smash Brothers Ultimate tournament on Thursday evening. This week’s tournament led to Ch Sky Reborn claiming victory. Thursday was busy at the Carolina Esports Hub too as Carolina FinTech hosted a LAN for their Youth Apprenticeship program, YTAC. The evening featured project presentations by YTAC students and a 3v3 Rocket League tournament.
